Because its season starts early, on the 19 November, and continues until 8 May 2012, Val Thorens’ ski area, 99% of which is located above an altitude of 2,000 metres, it  offers exceptional conditions and guaranteed snow cover, meaning that every season the resort boasts the highest number of open runs in Europe.

The Ski Force Winter Tour - This first event offers a double opportunity: be the first to try out the snow and test the new equipment for 15 of the biggest ski brands while benefitting from the advice of professionals. Just by showing proof of identity, skiers can receive a test card free-of-charge which allows them to try out unlimited equipment throughout the weekend. The atmosphere at the heart of the brand village is fun and friendly: a succession of entertainment and surprises take place throughout the day; mulled wine is available on Saturday from 4pm, providing a chance to get the lowdown from the pros. 

Since this event was established in 2008, the number of people in attendance has doubled every year and the number of weekend tests has grown by 60%. To extend the fun, skiers can also enjoy a stop-off during the day on the ice-driving circuit to watch renowned drivers train during the press presentation of the Andros Tournament Trophy.

This winter, Val Thorens is welcoming the initial stage of the Rock on Snowboard Tour tournament for the very first time, 26 - 27 november, along with 30 snowboarding brands including Burton, APO, Rossignol Snowboard, Oakley, Nitro, Go Pro… So much better than just buying your equipment in a shop, here, you can try it all out beforehand on Val Thorens’ actual runs!
